SAFETY FIRST: We're taking extra measures to ensure your children are safe in our school. More details
1 YEAR OLDS
At Scholars Tech we concentrate on the developmental goals of this age as well as
emphasize safety and security with a loving and caring staff. Our environment is
specially designed so children can explore and play together as they begin their
understanding of socially appropriate behavior. At this precious age, toddlers’ little minds
are a sponge for learning opportunities. Your toddler might seem to be unconcerned with
life’s daily events, but that’s not quite the case. The fact is, toddlers are busy little people
who love to climb, explore, build, and create. They are learning to master their bodies by
walking, running, stooping, climbing, throwing, and jumping. Our well-trained and
nurturing staff will encourage and allow your toddler to make these new discoveries in a
safe environment.
We engage our toddlers in playing with toys, imitating, and pretending, enjoying stories
and books, connecting with music and movement, the use of technology, creating with
art, tasting and preparing food, exploring sand and water, and going outdoors.
Any object that young children can explore, put together, take apart, push, pull, stack, and
create becomes a toy in a child’s hands. Toys teach skills while at the same time children
are playing and having fun. While playing with materials, children learn about size,
shape and sequence, problem solving, cause and effect, balance, eye hand coordination
and social skills.
Developmental Goals
• To encourage body expressions and control
• To develop concrete thinking skills
• To promote social play
• To encourage and develop language skills
• To develop a sense of emotional security
Our educators are committed to broadening and deepening your child’s experience by
providing opportunities for new challenges as well as familiar activities that the child can
master in all areas of development: motor, cognitive, perceptual, social, emotional,
language and expressive capabilities. We like to promote a sense of positive self-esteem
and self-confidence as a competent, capable, active learner and member of a family and
community.
Our specially trained teachers use our curriculum to promote those understandings,
dispositions, and skills that lead to success in future schooling.
